On the 3rd July, over 500 KS1 pupils from 14 different Primary Schools from Cheltenham and North Tewkesbury took part in the annual KS1 Multi Skills Festival at Cheltenham College.

Schools attended 1 of 3 sessions throughout the day. The children were greeted on arrival by our special guests- Fireman Sam and Minnie Mouse! The Olympic Themed multi sports activities were then kicked off with a fun and engaging 'Wake and Shake' routine with an array of dance moves and music lead by the 2 VIP's!

Warmed up and ready to go, the KS1 pupils were split into teams and completed 10 Olympic and Paralympic sports stations including; Boccia, Sitting Volleyball, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Football and Boxing. Each station was led by local Secondary School Sports Leaders who did a fantastic job in including every pupil in the short sessions which focused on key skills within the specific sport (i.e. quick feet and co-ordination for Boxing and concentration and balance for Gymnastics).

The aim of the day was to get everybody active and involved, the competition element of the festival was in the form of Olympic and Paralympic Values, with certain individuals being rewarded for displaying characteristics such as: Team Work, Determination and Respect.

Thank you to everybody that attended; schools and leaders, to Cheltenham College for hosting, to Minnie and Fireman Sam and finally, to Cheltenham Fencing who sponsored the event.
