The event saw over 400 pupils from 23 local primary schools compete in a range of athletic activities during 3 separate events throughout the day. Event 1 and 2 were the large schools events, with the overall winners progressing to the county finals on the 10th February at Wycliffe College. Warden Hill took the honours in event 1 but Charlton Kings, victors of event 2, took overall honours to progress into the county finals.

Event 3, the small schools event, saw a large crowd gather to watch the 9 small schools compete for their place at the county finals. In a highly competitive final event only 6 points separated Winchcombe Abbey from the eventual winners, Grangefield, who consistently perform well in interschool competitions thanks to their enthusiastic PE co-ordinator Debbie Palmer.

Matt Coldrey, School Sport Coordinator for the Network said: “It was fantastic to see so many young people competing with smiles on their faces, it makes you realise the positive impact sport can have.
